Screening for Young Audiences: ME, YOU, US: MULTIFACETED IMAGES

In a film, one image can respond to another, a movement can repeat itself and then transform, and several voices can blend together without disappearing. Among the films in this screening, some seem to have emerged from a very personal gesture; others bring together a multitude of characters, perspectives or approaches. But even when we create alone, others are never far away: they inspire us and respond to us. A screening to discover how experimental cinema can create a dialogue between the ‘I’, the ‘you’ and the ‘we’.

The screening at Commune Image will be followed by a workshop for young audiences (aged 6 and over) at 3.30 pm; free admission, booking required at transmission@cjcinema.org

The Collectif Jeune Cinéma invites you to an introductory workshop on moving images, focusing on the creation of an optical illusion.

Using images gathered during the FCDEP and others that you can create yourself, the aim is to draw inspiration from the earliest optical illusions in the history of photography and cinema (praxinoscope, thaumatrope) to see and experience that you don’t need a camera to make a film – it can simply be one image next to another.
