Session as part of the Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris.
After a two-week residency at Haut in Copenhagen, Martin Douleur returns with a basket full of food waste. Years spent trying to understand why their stomach leaks, why their body is rotten to the core, why they are not the peaceful structure they are supposed to embody, why they must experience their body as a constant process of restoration.
This performance is a first step towards a living archive, building on the work carried out with Ar Utke Ács during their Focus“Chronic troubles and diluted hours, basis of our counterpowers’, where the time set aside allowed them to listen to their bodies and experiences of chronic illness, and to create echoes of these within artistic institutions. This proposal resonates with the speculative space they have established around this constant fire, a forest to be replanted, a peat bog that insidiously prolongs the blaze whilst we forget it.
