In this film a dream is to be told. A young man brushes his teeth and goes to bed. A journey to the uncanny starts. Daily used objects start to become symbols that develop a ghostly effect. The cinematic passage leads through an enraptured scenery and the shown symbols give information about the thoughts, feelings and memories of the sleeping person and the viewer. The director does not refer coincidental to the essay of Sigmund Freud the Uncanny, which was published for the first time in 1919.
„Thus, in the very word heimlich, the familiar and intimate are reversed into their opposites. The immanence of the strange within the familiar is considered as an etymological proof of the psychoanalytic hypothesis according to which the uncanny is that class of the frightening, which leads back to what is known of old and long familiar.
The objects that group together like psycho furniture trace us back to an animistic world where the omnipotence of thoughts and the based technique of magic are ruling.
