Le 8 avril 2010, je suis partie à la rencontre d'inconnus dans les rues principales d'Athènes afin de tester ma nouvelle caméra super 8. J'ai demandé à des passants de tenir les cartons que j'avais préparés, faisant ainsi des portraits hasardeux et transformant du coup une petite bobine super 8 en projet collectif. Ce fut pour moi une manière de résister à l'ambiance de peur et de déception généralisée due à l'annonce de "la crise" en Grèce. Le super 8, médium rêvé se démarquant du flux télévisuel, m'a permis de créer un espace de rencontre, le temps d'une bobine.
The 8th of april 2010 I went out in the main streets of athens to test a new super 8 camera. I asked random strangers to hold captions I had prepared, therefore making their short portraits and transforming a small super 8 reel in a collective project. This was my own way of reacting to the fear and disappointment that had been created due to 'the crisis' that had just been announced in Greece. The super 8 was the dreamt medium, the one that was in opposition from tv, from the flux, and that allowed to create a space for encounters, just for a reel's time.
