A memory on the verge of collapse offers us an escape from our haunting past, towards a strange unknown, new possibilities, an alternative narrative.
A sound performance in which I explore the collapse and disintegration of sound. I give form to the act of forgetting, where meaning fades away, gradually absorbed by the background noise that takes over.

Randa Megahed is a sound and visual artist based between Paris and Cairo. Her practice ranges from sound art to performance and film, exploring memory, obsolescence, and the poetic and political potential of residue. She works with archives, degraded images and sound sampling to develop pieces centred on disappearance and the act of listening. She holds a Master’s degree in Musical Composition and Sound Arts from the INA GRM and Gustave Eiffel University, as well as a DNSEP from the École Supérieure d’Art de Tourcoing. Her work has been exhibited at Savvy Contemporary (Berlin), Les Instants Vidéo (Marseille), MUBA Tourcoing, and Medrar for Contemporary Art (Cairo).
